Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), an India-led global initiative for sustainable consumption, continues through awareness and behaviour-change campaigns, integration with international climate diplomacy (recognised in UN/COP processes) and pro-planet-people actions. A comprehensive repository of best practices and broader global adoption are being pursued, with the initiative ongoing rather than completed. Partial.
We have started multiple programmes to protect the environment like PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Railway Electrification, PM e-Bus, promotion of EVs, Ethanol and Bio-fuel promotion among others. Through these programmes, our citizens will benefit from the opportunity to live in a clean environment.
We will promote recycling programmes across the country. We will institutionalise recycling mandates across sectors to maximise mineral recovery from used products.
We will launch a series of programmes to address the growing concern over safe disposal of e-waste.
