Stalled. The promise was that within two years 50 percent of state buses would be electric. Electrification is actively progressing - BMTC had around 1,027 e-buses by late 2024 and the Centre has since allocated 4,500 more under PM E-DRIVE - but electric buses remain roughly a fifth of BMTC's ~7,000-bus fleet and a small share of KSRTC's fleet, far below the 50-percent-in-two-years target, which has lapsed. Active transition, target missed.
