BMTC’s electric fleet is expanding substantially: the Centre allocated 4,500 electric buses to Bengaluru under PM E-DRIVE, and the state budget provisioned thousands more, putting BMTC on course to add roughly this many e-buses (it operated about 1,027 e-buses in late 2024 and is growing toward a ~10,000 fleet). Progressing toward the 5,000 e-bus target, not yet fully inducted.
