Fill approved vacancies in all government departments within one year
Indian National Congress · Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2023
Last updated 16 Jun 2026
“To fill up approved vacancies in all Government Departments within one year.”
Our Assessment
highBroken on the stated timeline. The promise was to fill approved vacancies in all government departments within one year. In a written reply to the Assembly in December 2025 the Chief Minister stated about 2.84 lakh posts were vacant - up from about 2.76 lakh a year earlier - with the Finance Department permitting only about 24,300 to be filled. Recruitment has faced repeated aspirant protests and delays, and as of early 2026 the government was still pledging to speed up hiring. The one-year target was not met.
