“To get all pending metro projects completed under Phase 2, Phase 2A, Phase 2B within one year of coming to power. To strive to get approval and completion of Phase 3 and Phase 4 in the next five years and to extend Metro upto Tumkuru, Vasanta Narasapura Industrial Hub.”
Partial. The commitment to complete all pending Phase 2/2A/2B metro projects within one year was missed - those lines ran years behind schedule (the Yellow Line opened around 2025 and the Pink Line slipped to 2026). On the other hand, Phase 3 was approved by the Union Cabinet in August 2024 and the state cleared the double-decker viaduct works, with construction beginning. Phase 4 and the Tumkuru extension are not realised. Real progress and Phase 3 approval, but the binding time-bound targets were not met.
To install public charging/ battery swapping points at every metro station and bus stands to provide charging infrastructure.
To introduce e-rickshaws to improve first-mile and last-mile connectivity in the city of Bengaluru.
To add 5000 new electric buses to BMTC’s fleet to reduce pollution and make BMTC more energy efficient.
