Our Assessment

The 2025–26 state review still describes Vahali Dikri instalments of ₹4,000, ₹6,000 and ₹1 lakh, totalling ₹1.10 lakh. The Governor's 2026 address confirms the programme remains active, but does not announce the promised ₹1.50-lakh benefit. No verified later enhancement or higher-rate payment record was located. Continued baseline assistance does not count as progress on the increase, and ₹1.10 lakh is not displayed as partial completion of an unverified enhancement.

The reasoning behind the verdict

Why this assessment?

Reviewed

01 · Delivery status

Why pending?

Vahali Dikri Yojana is active, but this promise concerns an increase in the benefit. The Women and Child Development Department's published FAQ specifies ₹4,000 at Class 1, ₹6,000 at Class 9 and ₹1 lakh at age 18, a total of ₹1.10 lakh. This is the pre-existing benefit structure, below the promised ₹1.50 lakh. We did not verify a later order raising it or payments at the higher rate. The term is ongoing, so the status is Pending rather than treating the existing scheme as progress on the promised increase.

02 · Strength of evidence

Why medium confidence?

The official department FAQ supports the ₹1.10 lakh published structure; a later amendment or operational payment at ₹1.50 lakh has not been ruled out conclusively.

What would help us reassess?

The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.

  • Government resolution amending the total Vahali Dikri benefit to ₹1.50 lakh
  • Effective date and eligibility rules for the increased amount
  • Payment records showing beneficiaries receiving the increased instalments

Status describes delivery. Confidence describes the evidence.
