Our Assessment

Tribal-area nature tourism is operating and being promoted. Gujarat Tourism lists forest accommodation, eco-campsites and tribal attractions in South Gujarat, while the tourism minister's May 2026 statement describes continuing eco-tourism and tribal heritage promotion, particularly in Dangs and Narmada. This is relevant service and promotional activity, including existing destinations; the announced allocation is not treated as completed construction. The reviewed records do not establish the full promised wellness offer, homestay and caravan rollout across Dang, Narmada, Valsad and Tapi, nor a defined 'world-class' service standard and demonstrated community benefits. The broad destination-development package is Partially Done, without a fabricated percentage.

The reasoning behind the verdict

Why this assessment?

Reviewed

01 · Delivery status

Why partially done?

Operating forest tourism and continuing tribal destination promotion deliver part of the package. Wellness, homestay/caravan scope and geographic coverage remain incomplete or unverified.

02 · Strength of evidence

Why medium confidence?

Official destination information establishes relevant services, supported by a dated ministerial statement reported in the press. Comparable post-election works and quality/outcome data are limited.

What would help us reassess?

The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.

  • District-wise post-2022 destination projects and operational wellness facilities
  • Registered tribal homestays, caravan sites and actual visitor/service records
  • Community employment/income outcomes and independently assessed destination standards

Status describes delivery. Confidence describes the evidence.
