Our Assessment
Urban-forest development is visible in Gujarat. Akashvani reported in May 2025 that Ahmedabad had developed more than 100 urban forests, alongside a large municipal tree-planting programme. In August 2025, reporting of an official statement documented another urban-forest opening in Lambha and a cumulative 198 oxygen-park or urban-forest plots in Ahmedabad. These figures demonstrate implementation, but they are cumulative stocks with no consistent separation of sites created before and after the 2022 election. They also mix oxygen parks and urban forests. Until a dated, site-level inventory establishes 100 qualifying forests delivered against this commitment, the promise is Partially Done.
