“We will ensure 20% of the total power production in the state is through Renewable energy.”
Fulfilled with a critical caveat. The promise is to ensure 20% of total power production in Goa is through renewable energy. MNRE Renewable Energy Statistics 2024-25, using CEA data, records Goa's 2024-25 in-state electricity generation as 65.24 MU, all from renewable energy sources, which technically exceeds the 20% threshold. Goa Solar Portal also records rooftop solar deployment through GEDA. However, ED-Goa's own Business Plan says Goa is completely dependent on external sources for power and has no large-scale renewable-sourced energy generation within Goa. Therefore, this should be shown as fulfilled on the narrow official generation-share metric, with a clear caveat that Goa's local renewable generation remains small and the state still depends heavily on external power procurement.
ED-Goa Business Plan noted complete dependence on external power sources and no large-scale renewable-sourced energy generation within Goa, creating an important caveat for this promise.
