Indiramma Indlu: house site and Rs 5 lakh construction assistance

The manifesto promised that families not owning a house would receive a house site and Rs 5 lakh in financial assistance for construction under the Indiramma Indlu guarantee. The scheme is operational: the government conducted a survey identifying around 18.32 lakh potential beneficiaries, released beneficiary lists, and disburses assistance in stage-wise instalments tied to construction milestones and verified through a mobile application, with landless families categorised for a plot plus construction support. A second phase was reported to begin on 2 June 2026. Delivery is real but phased and far from covering all eligible families, and completion depends on continued state-side rollout, supporting a partial verdict rather than fulfilled. If the phased rollout is read as a credible trajectory to completion within the term, an on-track view is also defensible. Budget: the state has cited a multi-thousand-crore outlay for the scheme (reported around Rs 22,000 crore) with stage-linked releases, indicating both allocation and partial utilisation.
