Establish SITs to investigate major alleged scams and take strict action

The manifesto promised SIT investigations into alleged fertilizer, mid-day meal, mining, PM Awas and Jal Jeevan scams, followed by strict action. The Anti-Corruption Bureau formed an SIT for the Jal Jeevan Mission case in December 2025, initially covering 18 senior officers, and the investigation led to multiple arrests including former PHED officials and former IAS officer Subodh Agarwal. A separate ACB SIT examined DoIT tenders from the previous government, showing use of the promised investigative mechanism beyond Jal Jeevan Mission. However, no approved source was found confirming equivalent SIT investigations across the other specifically named areas of fertilizer, mid-day meal, mining and PM Awas. Meaningful action on one major named scam is therefore partial rather than fulfillment of the full multi-sector commitment. Budget: No dedicated SIT outlay or utilisation figure was found; the investigations are being conducted through existing ACB resources.
