Form a Special Investigation Team for paper-leak cases

The manifesto promised a Special Investigation Team to rapidly investigate paper-leak cases and take strict action against offenders. On 15 December 2023, the new government announced the SIT under the Special Operations Group, directly matching the promised mechanism. By January 2025, the SIT had overseen 170 RPSC and RSSB examinations without a reported leak and arrested 244 alleged kingpins, accomplices and beneficiaries in earlier leak cases. The team was therefore established and used for substantive enforcement, so the institutional commitment is fulfilled even though individual prosecutions and trials remain ongoing. Budget: No separate SIT-specific allocation or utilisation figure was found; the work is being carried out through existing police and SOG resources.
