300 units of free electricity per month to every household

Reviewed 29 September 2026. PSPCL's FY 2026-27 subsidy document continues the 300-unit monthly / 600-unit bimonthly domestic electricity benefit, subject to consumer-category and consumption conditions. The Tribune's 20 July report also confirms the scheme remains in operation. This is not an unconditional deduction of 300 units from every household bill. Revised from fulfilled to partial because the stored promise also includes round-the-clock supply and pending-bill waivers; the evidence reviewed confirms the subsidy but does not establish complete delivery of all components to every household. This rating is not a claim that the free-electricity scheme has stopped. Historical assessment (2026-06-06, recorded status: fulfilled; retained verbatim and may be superseded by the latest review): Implemented from 1 July 2022 (300 units per month, billed as 600 units per two-month cycle). Pending domestic electricity arrears up to 31 December 2021 for loads up to 2 kW were also waived. Around 77-80% of households were projected to get zero bills.
