The cervical-cancer initiative was announced in the interim Budget 2024-25 (encouraging HPV vaccination for girls aged 9-14), and as of February 2026 the Centre indicated an imminent nationwide HPV vaccination programme targeting about 1.15 crore 14-year-old girls each year under a "Swastha Nari" framing. Broader women’s health services (anaemia, screening at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, etc.) continue. However, the dedicated cervical-cancer national rollout and HPV inclusion in the immunisation programme had faced delays and were not yet fully operational. Partial: commitments made and a rollout announced, delivery at scale still pending.
