Our Assessment

Accessibility of public infrastructure and transport is pursued mainly through the Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan (Accessible India Campaign), which targets barrier-free buildings, transport and ICT — though it is primarily a Persons-with-Disabilities programme (now absorbed into the Creation of Barrier-Free Environment scheme under SIPDA) that benefits seniors indirectly.
