Airport modernisation is advancing, with total passenger-handling capacity at operational airports rising to around 575 million per annum, and new airports (e.g. Noida/Jewar and Navi Mumbai) are being planned with multimodal integration - metro, rapid rail and road links - using the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for coordinated infrastructure. Multimodal integration is being built into newer projects but is not yet comprehensive across all airports. Partial.
We will partner with neighbouring countries to strategically manage the Himalayan rivers. Our focus will be on holistic measures to mitigate the devastating effects of floods and harnessing hydroelectric power to generate affordable electricity.
We will continue to strengthen Bharat’s coastline by developing a resilient infrastructure, and prepare a master plan keeping in mind the special needs of coastal areas and ensuring all facilities.
We will transform our islands into premier global tourism destinations by developing world-class beach resorts, marine adventure activities, and robust coastal infrastructure, while preserving local ecosystems and promoting sustainable tourism.
