Our Assessment
Land-record modernisation continues under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) - digitisation of records of rights, computerisation of registration, unique land parcel identification (ULPIN/Bhu-Aadhaar), and the SVAMITVA scheme mapping rural inhabited (abadi) land with drones and issuing property cards. Integration of revenue courts and registration offices is being pursued in a phased manner. Implementation is advancing but uneven across states, so the next-generation, fully integrated system is in progress. Partial.
