Our Assessment

Mental-health services are being expanded through Tele-MANAS (the national tele-mental-health programme launched October 2022, with cells across states/UTs handling crores of helpline calls), the National Mental Health Programme and Centres/Institutes of Excellence, Manodarpan (student psychosocial support under the Education Ministry), and promotion of yoga and meditation. Coverage is growing significantly, with mental-health access still being deepened. Partial (strong action).
