“To increase the celing and reservation from 50% to 75% to accommodate the hopes and aspirations of SC/ST/OBC/Minority and other communities like Lingayat and Vokkliggas. The Congress party committed to increase reservation for SCs from 15% to 17%, for STs 3% to 7%, and restore minority reservation 4% and increase reservations for Lingayats, Vokkaliggas and other communities and to pursue for inclusion in the 9th Schedule of the Constitution.”

The manifesto committed to raising the overall reservation ceiling from 50 to 75 percent - including increasing SC reservation from 15 to 17 percent and ST from 3 to 7 percent, restoring a 4 percent minority reservation, enhancing reservation for Lingayat, Vokkaliga and other communities, and pursuing inclusion in the 9th Schedule of the Constitution.
