“To create a Jean Capital of India in Bellary to boost exports to expand employments opportunities by creating an Apparel park by investing Rs 5000 Cr.”
On track. The promise was to create a 'Jean Capital of India' in Ballari with an apparel park (Rs 5,000 crore) to boost exports and employment. The Ballari Jeans/Apparel Park was included in the 2024-25 budget and the Textile and Garment Policy 2024-29; KIADB has acquired 154 acres for the project (with farmer compensation paid), and the state has set and revised plot pricing to attract textile and garment units. The park is being actively established but is not yet operational, and the Rs 5,000 crore figure is an investment-attraction target rather than committed spend.
