Pre-existing cattle-subsidy schemes differ from this promise: the distribution of two milch cows or buffaloes to SC, ST and BPL beneficiaries, and the Doodh Ganga or Dairy Entrepreneurship Development back-ended subsidy for dairy units, both of which largely pre-date this term and are not the universal up-to-4-cows-per-household subsidy promised.
