Bharatiya Janata Party · Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2022
Last updated 16 Oct 2026
What does this status mean?
The term is active and there is no evidence of action or reversal.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will double the stipend for tribal students enrolled in ITI courses from ₹400 to ₹800 per month under Swami Vivekanand Stipend Scheme for Technical and Professional Courses.”
Our Assessment
The July 2024 Gujarat Gazette explicitly lists the Tribal Development Department's VKY-158 stipend at ₹400 per month for ITI students, the pre-increase amount in the manifesto. This is direct post-election evidence of the published rate at that date. No later verified resolution and payment evidence establishing the promised ₹800 monthly rate for tribal ITI students was found in this review. The existing ₹400 scheme is not counted as delivery of the increase, and it is not displayed as 50% completion. Pending reflects the unverified doubling while the term continues.
The reasoning behind the verdict
Why this assessment?
Reviewed
01 · Delivery status
Why pending?
The official 2024 schedule still states ₹400 monthly; a later ₹800 entitlement and actual disbursement have not been verified.
02 · Strength of evidence
Why medium confidence?
The Gazette directly identifies the relevant tribal scheme and rate. Confidence is Medium because it is dated 2024 and may not capture a subsequent unpublished or unlocated change.
What would help us reassess?
The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.
- A later Gujarat resolution revising VKY-158 to ₹800 per month
- Effective date, eligibility and updated application instructions
- Year-wise tribal ITI beneficiary payments demonstrating the increased rate
