Create more than 1 lakh government jobs for women
Bharatiya Janata Party · Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2022
Last updated 15 Oct 2026
What does this status mean?
The term is active and there is no evidence of action or reversal.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will create more than 1 lakh government jobs for women in the next 5 years.”
Our Assessment
Gujarat is recruiting for public services, but the reviewed sources do not provide a comparable cumulative count of women appointed to Gujarat government jobs since December 2022. Advertised vacancies, all-sex appointments and honorary Anganwadi engagements cannot be added as equivalent government jobs delivered to women. The target remains more than 1 lakh over five years; a valid gender-disaggregated numerator has not been verified. Pending reflects that evidence gap while the term remains active, not a finding that no woman has been recruited.
The reasoning behind the verdict
Why this assessment?
Reviewed
01 · Delivery status
Why pending?
A cumulative, gender-disaggregated tally of actual Gujarat government jobs delivered since the election is missing; recruitment plans alone do not establish the numerical target.
02 · Strength of evidence
Why low confidence?
Public recruitment continues, but the reviewed evidence does not reconcile actual women appointees across state departments.
What would help us reassess?
The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.
- Department-wise actual women appointed since December 2022, by date and employment type
- Deduplication of appointees and reconciliation of new posts and filled vacancies
- Clear separation of state government jobs from Union posts, corporations and honorary engagements

Promise Timeline
Evidence review: The manifesto sets a five-year numerical target of more than one lakh government jobs for women. Gujarat continues to recruit for public posts, but a verified statewide tally separating newly created state government positions filled by women since the election was not located. Recruitment announcements, Union-government appointment events and Anganwadi engagement cannot be added together as equivalent state government jobs. Without a valid numerator, meaningful progress against the specific target cannot be measured. The 2027 deadline has not passed, so the status remains Pending.
