Bharatiya Janata Party · Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2022
Last updated 18 Oct 2026
What does this status mean?
The term is active and there is no evidence of action or reversal.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will provide a one-time incentive grant of ₹50,000 to OBC/ST/SC/EWS students who get into a NIRF top-ranking institution in India or a top-ranking world institution for higher education. We will provide a one-time incentive grant of ₹50,000 for every Vicharti Vimukt Jaati student who gets into a NIRF top-ranking institution in India or a top-ranking world institution for higher education.”
Our Assessment
The same ₹50,000 admission incentive repeats for OBC, SC and nomadic/denotified students on pages 61–63, alongside the broader OBC/ST/SC/EWS pledge on page 49 and tribal wording on page 45. These references are retained as one commitment. No matching launch order, application route and beneficiary payments were verified. Existing tuition scholarships or semester-based exchange support do not establish this one-time admission grant.
The reasoning behind the verdict
Why this assessment?
Reviewed
01 · Delivery status
Why pending?
Matching implementation has not been verified; this is an evidence gap, not proof of non-delivery.
02 · Strength of evidence
Why low confidence?
The pledge is clear, but matching implementation records are insufficient.
What would help us reassess?
The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.
- Scheme rules covering all named groups, eligible institutions and actual ₹50,000 awards

GTU published an IIT Gandhinagar exchange circular with ₹50,000-per-semester tuition support. This is documented context, not verification of the manifesto's one-time top-institution admission grant.
