Clear MSME permissions within six months or deem them approved
Bharatiya Janata Party · Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2022
Last updated 12 Oct 2026
What does this status mean?
The term is active and there is no evidence of action or reversal.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will ensure MSME units get necessary permissions within 6 months from the date of expiration of the 3-year exemption period, failing which they will be deemed approved.”
Our Assessment
Gujarat's 2019 MSME facilitation law created a three-year approval exemption before this election. That pre-existing exemption alone does not verify the additional promised six-month clearance window or deemed approval after the window. The reviewed records do not show post-election implementation or a count of MSMEs obtaining such automatic approval.
The reasoning behind the verdict
Why this assessment?
Reviewed
01 · Delivery status
Why pending?
The baseline three-year exemption predates the promise. The additional six-month and deemed-approval mechanism has not been verified as operating.
02 · Strength of evidence
Why low confidence?
The pre-existing law is official, but the specific later mechanism and its use by firms are not documented in the reviewed material.
What would help us reassess?
The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.
- Gazette notification or rules specifying the six-month deadline and deemed-approval process
- Application processing records and counts of approvals deemed granted
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes the evidence.

Promise Timeline
Gujarat enacted a three-year MSME approval-exemption law before the election; this is a baseline, not evidence that the later promised six-month mechanism operates.
