Our Assessment

Gujarat's IT/ITeS Policy 2022–27 sets the same ₹25,000-crore export and 1-lakh-job ambitions, but it was issued before the election. The reviewed sources do not provide comparable post-election actual exports or net jobs attributable to the policy. Policy targets and proposed investments are not delivery counts.

The reasoning behind the verdict

Why this assessment?

Reviewed

01 · Delivery status

Why pending?

The policy predates the manifesto and no comparable achieved export or employment series was found. Meaningful progress toward these two numeric outcomes cannot yet be verified.

02 · Strength of evidence

Why low confidence?

The original targets are documented, but recent official outcome data for both measures is incomplete.

What would help us reassess?

The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.

  • Annual Gujarat IT/ITeS export value against the ₹25,000-crore target
  • Verified new direct jobs created under the policy since the 2022 election
  • List of firms attracted, their operational investments and jobs
