Our Assessment

Gujarat's 2025–26 review describes 13 operating Working Women Hostels, and the 2026 industrial policy offers assistance for further hostels. Those facts establish an existing service and a development policy, but not construction of 50 modern hostels after the promise. No verified list of post-election commissioned hostels matching this target was found. Existing NGO/municipal hostels, student hostels and proposed or approved buildings are not counted as new construction.
