Original manifesto wording
“Under the Shaktidoot Yojana we will enhance the following benefits: • Increasing the upper age limit from 20 years to 25 years • Increasing the need-based financial assistance from ₹25 lakh to ₹30 lakh per annum”
Our Assessment
Shaktidoot 2.0 was launched in August 2026. Its signed rules admit eligible athletes above age nine without specifying an upper-age cutoff, and set top-tier need-based annual assistance at ₹50 lakh, exceeding the promised ₹30-lakh ceiling. This supports fulfilment of the eligibility and benefit-rule changes. Assistance remains category-, performance- and need-based; the rules do not show every athlete receiving the maximum. The two components are also tracked separately.
