Create a statewide Water Supply Grid for equitable distribution
Bharatiya Janata Party · Goa Legislative Assembly Election 2022
Last updated 23 Jun 2026
“We will create a "Water Supply Grid" to ensure equitable distribution of water to all regions of the state.”
Our Assessment
highOn track, but not fulfilled. The exact Water Supply Grid title is not required where equivalent infrastructure integrates sources, treatment plants, pipelines and monitoring to improve distribution across regions. Goa Budget 2022-23 provided Rs 721.72 crore for water-supply works and recorded that a tender had been invited for real-time monitoring of the water-supply system. The Governor's Address 2026 states that additional water-treatment capacity of 325.6 MLD has been initiated and that a comprehensive mechanism is being prepared for replacement of ageing pipelines. A specific Rs 350 crore project nearing implementation will provide an alternative Chapora River supply to treatment plants at Assonora, Porvorim, Chandel and Pilerne. Additional projects connect raw-water sources to villages, industrial estates and treatment plants. These constitute concrete, funded components of an integrated supply network. However, no approved evidence confirms commissioning of a single statewide grid, equitable distribution in every region or the elimination of local supply shortages. Status on_track.
