“We will accelerate rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge by installing rainwater harvesting systems in homes and revitalising natural groundwater sources, and enhance storage in natural water bodies such as the Asola Bhatti lakes, Najafgarh Lake and Central Ridge ponds.”
Tenders have been initiated for 500 new rainwater-harvesting structures and the revival of about 1,000 existing ones (Business Standard/PTI, 2026). Revitalisation of named water bodies (Asola Bhatti, Najafgarh Lake, Central Ridge ponds) has not been separately verified.
