The Delhi government is in active engagement with Haryana, which has assured a minimum Munak Canal supply; a 30-cusec raw-water exchange project and an IIT Roorkee feasibility study for a dedicated pipeline are under way (Business Standard/PTI, 2026). A formal renewal of water treaties has not been separately verified.

We will increase Delhi’s water treatment capacity to 1,500 MGD and establish additional reservoirs to enhance water storage and pumping capacity.
We will enter into agreements with Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to bring additional water from Ganga to meet Delhi’s increasing water demand.
