Delivered to the letter. At its first cabinet meeting on 20 February 2025 the Rekha Gupta government approved implementing AB-PMJAY in Delhi with a ₹5 lakh state top-up. Delhi signed the MoU with the National Health Authority on 5 April 2025, becoming (at that point) the 35th state/UT to adopt the scheme — only West Bengal remained outside, until it too joined in 2026. Eligible families receive ₹10 lakh annual cover (₹5 lakh Centre + ₹5 lakh Delhi); the Union health ministry put the eligible base at about 6.54 lakh families (~30 lakh people). A card-enrolment drive followed, with several lakh cards issued through 2025.
