Original manifesto wording
“We will augment the scholarship for the wards of ex-servicemen to cover the school fees and stationery expenses: General education I-VIII from ₹3,000 p.a to ₹5,000 p.a; IX-XII from ₹6,000 p.a to ₹10,000 p.a; U.G. from ₹4,000 p.a to ₹20,000 p.a; P.G. from ₹4,000 p.a to ₹20,000 p.a; and Research and M.Phil from ₹10,000 p.a to ₹50,000 p.a.”
Our Assessment
The promise was to augment scholarship amounts for wards of ex-servicemen across school, UG, PG, research and M.Phil levels, and to cover school fees and stationery expenses. The KSB Guidebook 2025 records Uttarakhand education grants for wards of ex-servicemen up to JCO rank, including class 10-12, graduation, post-graduation, PhD/M.Phil, ITI, diploma, engineering and medical categories. Some verified rates meet or exceed parts of the manifesto in professional categories, but the exact promised table is not fully matched: class I-VIII general coverage is not clearly verified, UG and PG general amounts do not uniformly reach Rs 20,000, and the promise to cover fees and stationery is not proven. The verdict is partial due to benefit delivery with quantum and scope gaps. Budget status: benefit rates verified, but no specific augmentation allocation found.
